In my mother tongue I can turn into a swearing almost any possible word and there are so many swear words that I can talk for 5 mins only using those.
However on these forums and in these games, there are people out there so immature that all they do all day long is sit there and wait for someone to do something that they might interpret as a personal offence. And when they hear it! OMG OMG they have to report it, because it's their duty, they live of the harm and punishment they get to apply to others for "breaking the rules". It's their only satisfaction, the climax of the day. They've been useful to society, they've detected the f word in a sentence and asked for bans/revenge/retaliation/etc.
For any mature person on this planet, the f word is just that: a word like any other.

Further reinforcing my point, because does the EULA not say you have to be a certain age and such to play this game?
I'd hope this age requirement is intended to set a level of expected maturity.

Ahhhh the beauty of playing with people on vent. I can rage and swear all i want!!!!!!!
Its awesome. As for swearing, its all just bullshit. Not being ironic but it is. Its completely a matter of if the kid your playing against is a big enough prick to report you, and if Anet randomly decides to look over and accept the report ban. I've sworn up and down and cussed a storm and slurs everywhere in all chat and been told many times I've gotten reported. Never been banned. Just like ive gone afk and farmed so much that ive been reported as a bot and leecher many times, nothings every happened.
Its completely random.
I mean i'm on vent with guildies/friends so much that if i type something its either to buy something, cuss someone out, or join in random all chat fun. I mean my chat logs should be filled with nothing but that, But whatever.
I have 3 other accounts i could play on till temp ban goes away. Then i got a week ban to spar before i get even close to a perma ban.
If you get perma'd for a swearing, you'd have to be just standin in town all day swearing and harassing people over and over. Which at that point you deserve it.
As for being reported from AB thats just like ironic, considering its full of that shit all the time.
What you need is a like a ban for taunting. Like fighting in hockey. You both sit your 5 minutes, and if you get instigating then you're gone for the game.

The EULA also states that you may not use foul language. Your point is moot.

Which goes back to my point once again, I said, that I was okay with being banned because of the way that the rules currently are, but wish they'd be reviewed and revised in the future. So, yeah..... You still need to take up that whole reading thing.

What other language do you require me to repeat the same thing in so that you can finally get it?
I'm more than willing to assist, I'm rather good with german french and spanish, if that helps.

Foul language is part of human nature. Like eating, sleeping, making love (please notice my perfect language!)... Is the EULA requiring all their customers to start attending yoga classes so they never get angry or something?

No. I read perfectly fine. You accept the ban due to the current rules. Great, I don't care. I don't agree that the rules need to be changed. They are perfectly fine as is.
I would like MORE people banned for being unable to have even a modicum of self control.
So my point was: I don't agree with you. Ban appropriate.
That being said since I know you will jump to this conclusion: I do not report people for language. Still doesn't change the facts that the rules are there, the rules are used, and the rules are enforced.
Or maybe you will understand this response instead: /notsigned.

You could try Spanish or Hawaiian if you like. My response will be the same.

Self control? It's the internet, a game on the internet!
And though you're suddenly showing signs of paying attention I find it hard to believe that you were previously doing so even though you say you've "read perfectly fine".
Let us all bow our heads in prayer, and let us gain the power and highhorseness to develop that which will allow us to have "even a modicum of self control" in a game that glorifies binge drinking, gluttony, partying, and genocide of different species.
AHHHHHHAaaahHHHHHAAAhhhhmmmmeeennnnn!

You are taking your own biases and applying them to me. You believe that since I agree with the rules as written that I must be some sort of prude who would beat his kids if they said "RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO".
You can defend a position even if you don't practice that position yourself.
As I said, I don't personally care if you use foul language. I won't even report you for doing so. I even use it myself.
Crazy huh?

@ OP , what you said is kind of over the top, I probably would have reported you, or just LOL'd you to a rage.
To me the Inappropriate Language /report option is directed towards obnoxious players who keep running their mouth and racial comments, not so much the foul language. But threatening another player, like the OP did, is not just foul language. Based on what the OP wrote, I agree with the ban.

Oh, I in no way am saying that it wasn't as remarkably over the top as a statement can be. And I am not particularly defending my action, but rather the right for the average harmless individual to say foxtrot uniform charlie kilo when they feel fit.

I agree with everything Kumu Honua has said. If you can NOT control yourself on a mature level then you deserve your suspension. There is no reason why anyone should be saying "ni--er", "mother f-cker", "f-cking b-tch" ect, ect. No reason at all.
I won't deny that I report at least 1-3 people a day for "inappropriate language", "racial slur", "account sharing", ect ect (I have only failed maybe 4 or 5 of my 100+ reports on getting suspended/perma'd).
Having said that, I do my part in keeping trolls at bay to keep GW a somewhat (Notice!! Keyword being somewhat!!) cleaner place to play.
Anyways. To everyone else hating on Kumu Honua for wanting/agreeing that the rules are fine/he approves of them and that he disagrees with what you are saying by a nicely worded counter-argument statement: grow a maturity level :]
edit: this is the perfect example of what I mean by the "grow a maturity level" line (said in post #28 of this page).
